Bridging the worlds of people empowerment and community reform, April Hawthorne is an Economic Development Officer renowned for delivering society what they deserve the most: growth, progression, and collective advancement. To date, April brings with her an extensive 13+ year background involving cultural activism, community/network building, project management, and the art of turning every social good initiative into one that is as positive as it is productive. Even more, April is passionate about leveraging this acumen to not only translate Baton Rouge visions into tangible realities but do so in such a way that ensures present-day society and future generations can mutually benefit.

You can often find April participating in various leadership programs such as the Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s Development Fellows, MetroMorphosis’s Urban Leadership Development Initiative, Delta Regional Authority’s Delta Leadership Institute, and an active Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. member.
